Kherington’s senior session was one of those summer nights where everything just worked!! The flowers, the outfits, the location, and that ridiculously good golden light at the end.

She’s a senior at Northwestern Lehigh High School, and we kept her session relaxed and simple: one beautiful Lehigh Valley location, a few outfit changes, lots of wandering around, and plenty of time to let the light change as we went.

And somehow, by the end of the night, it looked like we had been to about five different places. ♡

One Location, So Many Different Looks

You definitely don’t need to spend your senior session driving all over the Lehigh Valley to get a gallery with variety.

I love choosing locations that give us room to explore. We might start near an old fence, wander through a garden, find a patch of wildflowers, and end up chasing the last little bit of sunlight through a field.

Add an outfit change or two and suddenly everything feels completely different without ever getting back in the car.

Kherington started in a short white dress, which was perfect against all of the green around us and gave us that classic senior-photo look without feeling too formal.

What a Senior Session Actually Looks Like

If you’ve ever wondered what actually happens on the other side of all these senior photos… this is pretty much it. 😂

We walk. We talk. I tell you what to do with your hands. I move you approximately six inches because I found a tiny pocket of better light. I’ll probably make you do something that sounds slightly ridiculous and then immediately yell, “YES, THAT!” when it works.

And occasionally I disappear into some flowers because I saw something pretty.

You do not need to show up knowing how to pose.

That’s my job.

Your job is basically to bring your outfits, show up, and trust me when I tell you the weird thing I’m asking you to do is going to look good. ♡

Senior Photos That Actually Feel Like You

Senior pictures don’t have to mean standing in front of a tree for an hour smiling at the camera.

Of course we’re going to get the beautiful smiling portrait your mom wants to frame. 😂

But I also want movement. The laugh in between. Your hair blowing around. The dress twirl. Looking away from the camera. Walking through a field. The images that feel a little less like senior pictures and a little more like you during your senior year.

That’s always the goal.

Not to turn you into someone else for an hour.

Just you with really good light.

Senior Year Goes Fast

There are a million little things happening during senior year. Last first days, football games, homecoming, college applications, prom, graduation and somehow it all happens at once.

Your senior photos get to freeze just a tiny piece of it.

Kherington brought her cap and gown along so we could sneak in a few graduation photos during her session, too. And yes, throwing the cap approximately 47 times until we get the perfect one absolutely counts as part of the experience. 😂
